SIMPLE CABINET and SIMPLE STORAGE Improve Supply Chain Efficiency – Case Rauman Akku
Aksulit Oy and Rauman Akku Oy have been working together since 2017. Their latest collaboration has focused on the implementation of Simple Cabinet and Simple Storage solutions.
Rauman Akku is a highly respected specialist store in the technical sector with over 65 years of experience. The company is known for its wide product range and high-quality service.
“What you can’t find at Rauman Akku, you probably don’t need. And if we don’t have it, we can make it – we even offer small-scale 3D printing these days,” says Jarkko Uusitalo, System Specialist at Rauman Akku.
Rauman Akku’s customers have shown increasing interest in improving supply chain efficiency to save time for core business operations. The aim is to avoid situations where products run out and need to be collected manually from other locations.
Simple Cabinet and Simple Storage Adapt to Customer Needs
Uusitalo proposed the development of the AkkuStore and AkkuBox systems in collaboration with Aksulit’s Joonas Puoliväli. These systems are based on RFID technology. Although Rauman Akku had used a similar system in the past, the previous supplier could no longer meet modern requirements. Uusitalo was confident that Aksulit would deliver a functioning solution.
The AkkuStore and AkkuBox concepts simplify corporate order and supply chains through configurable stock level alerts. When a product’s stock drops below a defined threshold, the system automatically replenishes inventory based on the customer’s preferred quantity.
Simple Storage can be set up as a central warehouse that employees can access at any time using their personal access tags. It holds essential daily-use items, with RFID technology and alert levels ensuring uninterrupted availability. Simple Cabinet, also known as AkkuBox, is a smaller version of Simple Storage used directly on the shop floor by Rauman Akku’s customers.
“One of our customers needed a Simple Cabinet for their machine shop, where they use critical components that must never run out. They had previously used another supplier’s warehouse system, but it wasn’t practical due to its remote location. Employees had to walk 500 meters to fetch items like cutting inserts. Now, the AkkuBox is located in the same hall where the work is performed,” explains Uusitalo.
Thanks to Simple Cabinet, the customer’s operational efficiency has significantly improved. Stock levels remain accurate, and both fast- and slow-moving items are always available. The Simple solutions help streamline the supply chain, reduce interruptions, and save valuable time.

The collaboration began in 2017, when Rauman Akku was looking for a partner with expertise in NFC technology.
“We found Aksulit, and the cooperation started immediately. We spoke the same language from day one. Their whole team shares knowledge, and everyone is ready to help when needed – which is a rare and valuable quality these days,” says Uusitalo.
“Whenever we face a new challenge, I contact Joonas Puoliväli and we begin solving it together. And we always do solve it. Not once has a case been left unfinished. Our customers are always happy with the outcome – and so are we,” Uusitalo adds.
According to Uusitalo, Aksulit’s service is consistently top-tier. “Their staff is second to none. They welcome even the wildest ideas and know how to offer the right solution or a sensible compromise when needed.”
